Upcoming Events

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you all had a very special Easter and that the children are all ready for the learning months ahead.

We couldn’t ask for better weather for our return to school after the Easter break.  Some girls chose to wear the new lilac summer dresses today and definitely brought a bright, summer feel with them.

I hope you all had an opportunity to go up to the church and see the wonderful Easter gardens that the children created before we broke up.  A huge thank you to parents/carers in Year 3, who turned up to help create a special Easter garden in the school grounds.  We were absolutely overwhelmed by the wonderful donations of plants – thank you.

A fantastic £1,011.77 was handed over to the NSPCC following the sponsorship activities.  Your generosity will ensure that many, many children will benefit from their essential support.  Thank you.

On Tuesday 15th March Lindsay held a special Holy Communion service in the church.  Everyone learnt about the importance of The Last Supper to the Christian church, and we were delighted to have so many parents/carers attend.

Sports Relief came to St Michael’s CEP on the 18th March.  It started off with a whole school warm up in the playground (adults included!) co-ordinated by Mrs Hollis.  The day then comprised of Olympic activities and a mile walk to Silcocks Farm.  Thank you to the PTA for organising helpers along the route.  In total we raised £57.00.

Thank you to everyone for continuing to support our amazing PTA, through their commitment and your support we have now got new laptops, a new PA system and new lockers.  The fundraising focus is now on improving our playground facilities.

School clubs recommence this week.  At the time of writing, we only have 4 names down for Badminton on Fridays.  The club will run this week but unfortunately, if we cannot get more than 4 children participating, we will sadly have to cancel it – so all you Badminton enthusiasts out there – please put your name down!

Many schools trips take place during terms 5 and 6 with the warmer weather.  Year 5 will be going to France and Year 6 will be spending a week at Bewl Water, please can you ensure that you have sent any relevant monies in.  Year 3 will be visiting the ‘Living Land’ at Detling showground on 5th May – please look out for the letter with further details.

Kind regards,

Sara Williamson
